As the front page of the JEP so plainly demonstrated last week there are still flyers out there who have a complete disregard for the rudimentary aspects of the sport.

I seem to remember that Air Law and Navigation played a big part in my elemetary training.

How anyone intending to fly a new site can just dismiss the rudimentary planning procedures and launch into unknown airspace is well beyond me.

As an Air Traffic Control Officer, Private Pilot and Paraglider maybe I have a unique view of the whole situation but I strongly believe we all need to be very careful, stick to the established rules and safeguard the priviledged position we currently find ourselves able to enjoy.
